Check out Pompano!

 The city of Pompano is a boater’s dream.  The city was set up with a similar network of canals that Fort Lauderdale boasts, without the giant pricetag on them.  There are a lot of local spots to pull up to on your rental boat trip to grab some food and some beer, at a much more reasonable price to that of the Fort Lauderdale locations.  Some of the great spots to stop in Pompano include: 

-Stop at the swim spot just before the Pompano inlet.  There is a nice beach area just inside the jeddies that line Hillsboro inlet.  You can pull the boat up to the beach area, throw anchor and swim there.  It’s great because you can walk to the beach over the dune and swim at the beach too.  Also, this is a great spot to view the lighthouse, which brings us to the next great spot to stop in Pompano.

-Take a moment to view the Pompano Inlet Lighthouse from a boat.  Pompano inlet is a treacherous inlet without local knowledge of it.  On a rental boat, this is a great way to see the Lighthouse, the way it was meant to be seen… while aboard a boat.

-Stop at the Cove for a seafood meal and some beers.  The Cove is a great restaurant/marina with plenty of dock spots available.  Stop in to have some good food and lively times at this waterfront restaurant location.
